What’s up with you?
Launched in October of 2016 as a space for hiphop culture lovers and connoisseurs to connect and converse on all things Black culture related. I decided to start this blog after I found that I would get in a debate with friends and acquaintances about hiphop culture and music on a daily basis. Things always got intense. Since I am so outspoken and have such a strong opinion on things, I figured I’d write about it which led me to combining my love for writing and the culture. I’ll talk all things entertainment, fashion, politics and of course, anything else that encompasses hiphop culture. I’ll even be reviewing upcoming artists music submissions.
My name is Kirstin, pronounced K”ear”stin but you can call me Que. I’m 23 years old and I love hiphop culture. Everything from the clothes, shows, music, and even your political stance is a part of hiphop culture. Think about it, President Obama quoted Jay-Z, that would’ve never happened 30 or 40 years ago. Hell, Hiphop put him in office. It has surpassed rock music in the U.S. as the most popular genre of music and is still young so for it grow this much shows just how much our culture influences the world. I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoy writing it. Be sure to sign up for my newsletter so you can stay up to date on any new posts and be on the lookout for my new interview series coming soon.
